Global Chapter Bible
The Pink Pong Foundation local chapter representative is a volunteer position,
with the mission to develop the sport of table tennis to the local
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community.
To provide a fun, competitive and safe environment for all the athletes,
to reach their personal best.
Objectives
To build a network of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Table Tennis players
world-wide from all ages, abilities and skill levels.
The local chapter representative has the option to co-produce the up-coming Gay Games 9
Table Tennis Tournament in Cleveland Ohio in 2014, and to be a part of the
Annual International Pink Pong Table Tennis Tournament.
Mission
To open Pink Pong chapters in cities world-wide,
and to organize individuals and or a team(s) with all skill levels.
Goal
To develop and promote table tennis to the local community,
to organize a weekly practice schedule,
to organize individuals and team(s) to participate in local tournaments,
to inform the members about the Gay Games 9 in 2014,
and the International Pink Pong Tournament in 2015 in New York City.
How to open a local Pink Pong chapter:
1) You agree to be the official local point person of the chapter in your city
2) Scouting for a venue that accommodates the needs of the players,
has room for growth, and is a safe and fun competitive environment.
3) Advertise via flyers/posters in the local LGBT community.
4) Organize a weekly two hours practice schedule minimum.
5) Send out a welcome email to all new members.
6) Encourage individuals from your city to participate in local tournaments
and the Gay Games 9 in Cleveland Ohio in 2014.
7) Provide information to your members on how to participate and register
for the Gay Games 9 on the Pink Pong Foundation website.
8) Organize individuals and a team(s) from your city to participate in the
International Pink Pong Tournament in 2015 in New York City, and 2016 in Chicago
9) Optional is to organize an annual awards dinner and honor the
“Most Improved” player of the year with a plaque or certificate,
10) Also optional is to honor the “Mascot(s)” with a plaque or certificate.
Mascots are supporters, friends or boy-friends of members from the team.
11) Report and communicate on a regular basis with the New York City headquarter.
How to run a two hours practice:
1) Send out a weekly email reminder, including the location and time with news up-dates.
2) Be on time or have an assistant represent you
3) Matches are based on winning two games out of three, the final score to win a game is 11 points;
two serves each, with two points lead to win a game, for example 11 to 9 or 14 to 16 final score.
4) Keep a record of all practice scores in a book
5) Start practice with a 15 minute warm up of the fore-hand, back-hand and serves.
6) Everybody gets to play everybody, to give the lower skill players the opportunity to play the higher skill players.
